#protecttheoceans

This powerful sculpture, 'The Wave of Waste' in the heart of London, is created by the Mexican beer brand Corona in partnership with a charity Parley for the Oceans.

Similar installations also appeared in Melbourne, Santiago, and other world cities, all using waste collected from local beaches. This one and a half-ton of plastic waste represents the current state of pollution our world oceans suffer from. Corona and Parley for the Oceans, an umbrella ecological organization, dedicated to protecting Earth's waters, have launched this art project as part of their global initiative protecting the eco-system of the ocean islands.

This art piece makes us aware of roughly eight million metric tons of plastic waste dumped into the ocean each year. We have to make any and every effort to protect the oceans. Even a small step of a personal commitment is a valuable contribution!
